The
first breed of dairy goats that we started out
with was the Alpines. Although these girls are
fantastic milkers, we do keep the herd small
and only retain a few kids. Most of the kids
are sold out of these heavy milkers each year
to other dairies. Cover doe here is Little Bit,
if you look in the background you can see her
twin does goofing off. We are currently selling
most of the Alpine herd, check below for does
for sale.

Seneca

Seneca
is a registered American Alpine. This little
doe already was in the show ring when she
was just a few hours old (she was born at
the show grounds) and actually placed in
the middle of her class. Although a little
doe, this girl is one of our top milk producers
with a long lactation period. Seneca had
her first freshening in March of 2007 and
is still milking through over 4 years later

Rosalynne

Rosalynne
is a purebred French Alpine. This pretty
doe has an excellent milking and show pedigree.
Although Rosalynne suffered from mastitis
her second freshening in one half of her
udder, she still milks out well on the other
side. We are still hoping to get a doeling
out of Roz in her next freshening.

The
IMS Little Bit

Little
Bit was Hugh's birthday present and he said
it was the best gift that he ever received.
This pretty little Sundgau has throw very
heavy milking does. One of her daughter's,
Peppermint Twist, is milking out nearly
1 1/2 gallons per day at her second freshening.

Ranch Fancy Dancer

Dancer's
sire is New Life Acres Yuletide. Dancer
had severe Pregnancy Toxemia and Hypocalciumia
during her pregnancy in 2008 and although
the vet delivered her twin doelings via
c-section (only one survived), Dancer is
severely crippled in both front legs from
being down so long. This doe can never be
bred again, but we make her life as comfortable
as possible, and she will live out her days
at the ranch as a pet.

Ranch Little Darling

Little Darling is what is known as a "Mini-Alpine",
which is a cross between a Pygmy goat and
an Alpine dairy goat. Although a tiny little
doe, she has a fantastic udder and can milk
out nearly as much as a standard sized dairy
goat. However, don't let the small size fool
you, Little Darling is actually our herd queen.

The
KD Lancelot's Quest

Lance is a nice buck from
fantastic bloodlines. This young buck is up
for sale with the rest of our Alpine dairy herd.
It's time to cut back on some of the work and
devote more time to the family, so we will be
keeping just two breeds, the Nubians and British
Guernseys.
